1-11-25

In the last 2 events, we've not only DOUBLED our volunteers, but have started our new event programming flow. At our first event of the year, we were fully done with kit packing within 40 minutes of volunteers arriving, leaving so much extra time for everyone to get to know each other (all 34 of you!), to do some volunteer training, and even hear Sydney share a powerful story from her very first time serving at Neighbors last month.

We had all our kits prepared beforehand, thanks to our Resource Distribution team and our note-writers from all around Denver and the country! If you’d like to join one of our teams, you can find more info and submit an inquiry here. We’re also continuing to collect as many hand-written notes as possible, to fill both our regular kits and prepare to start offering take-home kits for people to keep in their cars and hand out (whenever we get enough funding to do so!). If you’d like to write notes for us at whatever frequency works best for you, please fill out this form.

We are pumped after starting 2025 on such a strong note and can’t wait to see you all next month!

Some post-outreach prayer requests:

- Andrew: pray that he can find a job and for his family.

- Freddy: pray for his health to improve.

- Levi: pray that he would be able to get to Missouri to be with his family.

- Carlos: pray that he would be able to get off the streets.

- Danneil: praise God that he already attends New Hope Church, and pray for his Section 8 housing to come through.

- Will: pray for his family.

- Mary: pray for her family.

- Yolanda: pray for her family.

- Elmer: praise God for him, as he prays for the salvation of the people he comes in contact with.

- Eugene: pray that he wouldn’t be homeless much longer. He asked us to pray for a woman who was being cleared out and had her tent dismantled.

- Borris: praise God he has a place to stay until Tuesday. He asked for prayer for his fellow unhoused neighbors.

- Osage: praise God that he enjoys being a light in the darkness. Pray for healing and comfort, as he has Stage 3 cancer and is in a lot of pain. He also asked for prayers for those that don’t know how to pray, prayed aloud with us, and we remembered each other.

- DC: pray for healing, comfort, and an open heart. He is a veteran who lost his two daughters, and he cried when he told us about them. He said he lost his faith, blames himself for their death, and wants to be reunited with them in death. We investigated the the history and integrity of the Bible with him, and he said he didn’t like what he found, with detailed example. He has a brain tumor, is looking for housing and benefits, and prayed with us and spoke blessing over us.

- Thomas: pray that he would be able to be a blessing to others. His prayer request was that the people in his life would be blessed.

- Martin & Derek: pray for protection from the enemy in Derek’s life. Martin is Derek’s father, and originally declined a meal because he said it could go to someone who needed it more than him. He then asked us to pray for his son Derek who is getting into some trouble and just got out of jail.

- John: pray that the Lord would fulfill his desire to find a wife and have a family.

- Keri & Mike: pray that they would be provided for on their journey to find a hotel room tonight and that Keri can get off of schizophrenia medication.

- Keith: pray for hope for him, as he has a ton of stomach issues.

- Charles: pray that he will be able to find a job.

- Monie: pray that she would find housing soon and that she would find community and more emotional support for those who are homeless like her.

- Nathan: pray that he will stay clean. His dad is in the hospital and his phone was stolen so he has no way to communicate with family.

- Daniel: pray for provision, as his backpack, ID, and everything else he owned was stolen.

- Q: pray for strength and growth for his clothing business. Pray for openness and courage too, as he wants to start going to church.

- Johnny: pray that he would be able to live righteously despite his circumstances so that he can stay above the law. He asked us to pray for his enemies and for the poor.

- Leo: pray for healing for his shoulders and for healing through his past and anger in his heart. Pray that he would find a job, that he would be able to confront spiritual warfare, and for safety for him and his friends.

- Flint: pray that he will be able to find sustained and stable housing.

- Daryl: pray for his mom’s health and for those affected by the California fires.

- Phil: pray that he would be able to find freedom in Christ, as he expressed that he has weight on shoulders that he wants alleviation from.

- Carlence: pray that she would be able to find a jacket and for general warmth during these cold months. Pray that she would be able to make money and that she would be able to get and stay sober.

- Miranda: pray that God would be able to provide means for her to get back home to Rochester, NY.

- Paula: pray that she would be able to stay warm during the winter and that she would be able to get and stay sober in the meantime.

- Yashak: pray that the Lord would comfort him in his sadness, for his court cases coming up, and for his friends and family.

- John: pray that he will be able to find a job and overcome his addiction to drugs.

- Hugo: pray for him that he would be able to stay warm during these extremely cold days and find housing.

- Kate: pray that she would be able to get out of the abusive situation she is in and that she would be able to find housing.
