12-14-24
We were anticipating this event especially, since it was the first event that would kick off our official once-a-month scheduling and the transition to our new programming structure. God blew us away, once again, with TWENTY-FIVE volunteers! We’ve never had so many people show up, and it was such a big group that we had to do our photo outside. Such a small thing, but such an encouragement as we start this new season of Neighbors.
Moving forward, we will be meeting the second Saturday of every month, serving 100 unhoused neighbors, and meeting from 9am to noon. Standardizing our day-of program, having both hygiene and note kits prepped and ready for final assembly before the event itself, and having notes written will allow us to spend a short time with all hands on deck to assemble the whole kits. This way, we can spend an hour or so of designated team bonding, training, and small group prayer time before we go out and meet with our neighbors. So encouraged by this event and the helping hands, and we can’t wait for next month!

He has specifically asked us to pray for him to be reunited with his dog Cinnamon, who was taken away from him, and is being asked $450 to get him back. Cory is having a hard time trusting in Gods plan for his life, but travels around with a Bible and quoted scripture quite frequently. He wants all of us to pray for everyone around us, since he believes society needs more prayers than him specifically

Praying for his mom and sister, who live in Pueblo they are catholic but praying for every day struggles. Julia and Elaine. Worked in the part of prison where they made clothes and there were two men there that practiced memorizing and talked about bible versus and they asked if he wanted to join them memorizing a verse and he picked John 3:16. We invited him to church after that. He goes every once in a while now. Not doing much during the week but on social security and disability; would be open to a part time job. Knows about open doors ministry. Holds a lot of peace. He agrees that is a big part of what someone needs. Stays alone to keep away from temptation and reads his bible on his phone through his day. Fighting to keep himself pure. In the same spot by the bus station usually.
- Jon: he drinks to get through his day, so pray that he would be able to find relief and hope in Jesus.

Has been trying to get off the streets as homeless shelter are not in best shape. Asked us to give him a phone number for resources.
- Emma and Jason: Doesn't believe there is a god, doesn’t believe there isn’t. Grew up Christian his whole life. He had a lot of questions about God and faith and Christians, and wanted answers, so pray that he can continue to have those questions and seek the truth about them, and that he would find that truth in the Word and nothing else.
